About Margo Candelario
“Art is an Evolutionary process created in the space between the subject and Voyeur”
Margo Scott was born in San Bernardino, California. She moved to New York at the age of seventeen, where her interest in the arts and culture flourished. She attended Germaine School of Photography in 1984 studying commercial manipulation of lights, props, cable releases and the dark room, spending hours in the dark studying every shade of gray. She welcomed the challenge of discovering where her talents were the strongest, behind the lens in plain sight or in the dark. Seven years later she married Phil Candelario, had their first daughter and relocated to the State of Georgia, seeking a slower pace and healthier environment.
Unable to find employment outside of the home, Margo began to focus on her God given talent to create art, learning the market and finding a niche. As her name began to generate a buzz in the art community, her husband suffered a massive heart attack at the age of thirty four, leaving three children with questions and fear of death and separation. Uncomfortable leaving three small children in the care of strangers, Ms. Candelario resurrected her talent for storytelling and writing to generate an income while also helping others who have suffered a loss. “Take Me To The Water” was her first book of poems about love and the benefits of waiting for the natural sequence of relationship development.
Margo was invited to lecture and perform her poetry at several Universities in the states of Georgia and South Carolina, earning her the 1999 author of the year poetry category nomination. In 2008 six poems were published in an Anthology called “The New Poetry Showcase Myspace” by Copeland Books in the U.K and in 2009 her children’s book “Looking to the Clouds for Daddy” illustrated by Jerry Craft was released and reviewed by notables. Margo Candelario is an accomplished, award winning visual artist with works exhibited from Hawaii to the eastern seaboard. She currently resides in Georgia with her three daughters and Mother.
